Water World
Although it’s technically located in Federal Heights, CO, it’s only minutes away from Wesminster. Dubbed, “America’s largest waterpark,” since it is on 70 acres of land, it has 31 slides and over 50 total and fun attractions for the whole family. The park opened in 1979 with the first two waterslides in the state, the Bonzai Pipeline.
In 2021, Amusement Today awarded Water World the 5th best waterpark in the industry on their Golden Ticket Awards. Get your zoo fix on at the Butterfly Pavilion in Westminster, Colorado. It was started in 1995 and was the first stand alone and non-profit insect zoo in the world. Adventure Golf & Raceway
Our last landmark and fun thing to do in Wesminster for families and those of all ages is the Adventure Golf and Raceway. You can enjoy mini-golf, bumper boats, and electric go-karts while you bask in the Colorado sun and play.

Westminster Castle
Even though the Westminster Castle is no longer open to tours and visitors, it’s a cool landmark to visit while in Westminster, CO. It was constructed in 1892 at 175 feet tall and in a location with an amazing view of the front range. It is also on the historical places registry.
The red rocks used in its construction created a unique color for the structure which locals call The Big Red Castle and The Pillar of Fire. Certainly a cool place to come and see and worth visiting. It started as a University but now houses a Christian school and radio station. Even without being able to go inside, its worth a visit to see the unique architecture and colorful red stone that was used.
