Sitting on 40 acres by Ketring Lake, the museum has three exhibition galleries, an interactive gallery for children, a lecture hall, research center, and two 19th-century living history farm sites. The museum connects the past of Littleton to the present. One of the farms is a 1860 Homestead farm and the other is an 1890’s turn of the century urban farm showing how the residents of Littleton worked and lived in its early years.

Museum staff and volunteers dress up in time period outfits while working on the farm, in the blacksmith shop and while teaching in the one room school house. This gives guests an experience of what it was like on a homestead farm and primitive town. The art galleries offer pictures, artifacts, and graphics to show guests more about the time period.
